Love Wiseman’s concluding statement, “…it’s wonderful to change a girl’s life when she realizes the worth of being kind to others but it’s transformational to the culture if institutions like Mattel can similarly own up to “girl on girl” crime and become more KIND, and truly support girls in the process.”

717One of my favorite stories about passive aggressive behavior in a marriage goes like this:
“Cash, check or charge?” I asked, after folding the items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse. “So, do you always carry your TV remote?” I asked. “No,” she replied, “but my husband refused to go shopping with me and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.”

816I love this moment from the finale of NBC’s Biggest Loser when finalist, Hannah, says that reaching out and asking for help was the “bravest thing she has ever done.” I usually see people talking about this life lesson in the context of reaching out for mental health services rather than weight loss, but the stigma is just as oppressive…and the courage to reach out and ask for help is just as admirable:
